iShop good
Very few other tech prob­lems — only one in front of me in the queue

The friendly folk at iShop told me that I could keep my bat­tery while wait­ing ‘4–6 weeks’ for my replace­ment bat­tery so I am quite pleased. They told me that I am using the cur­rent faulty bat­tery at my own risk, so I said, ‘yah, I know, ain’t nobardy’s fault but mine if it blows up in my face, and I have to spend a lot more money hav­ing recon­struc­tive surgery before I can think about buy­ing a new lap­top, which might not even be a Power­book, because after this bat­tery recall inci­dent, I might just have sworn off Apples and Dells.’

But of course, it didn’t come out like that. Yay, new bat­tery com­ing.

    actu­ally, I just picked up my bat­tery from the whee­lock apple cen­tre. although they did advise that it’d take 4–6 weeks, my replace­ment bat­tery took about 13 days. I returned it on 2 Sep. Just got it back. *beaming*

    i had queue num­ber ahead: 0 but had to wait 15 min­utes AND ask them to serve me before they actu­ally did. and that was my sec­ond ipod replacement.

    hope youre next bat­tery will last longer!

    you should espe­cially stay way from Sony Vaios, then. Sony man­u­fac­tured all the bat­ter­ies that were affected by this recall. (yes, those Dells and Apples used Sony bat­tery cells.)

    I sim­i­larly “reg­is­tered” for a new bat­tery at Epi­cen­tre at Whee­lock. Despite the “4–6 weeks” line, they ended up call­ing me back within a week to say I could pick up my new bat­tery. Hope you get yours soon too!

    We are lucky, all we had to do is call up apple cen­tre in Syd­ney, tell them the ser­ial no.. and they sent us a new bat­tery within two weeks, and we sent them back the old one! No ‘Q’ing… so happy. =D
