I’m not a soccer fan, but I know I’ll get sucked into watching at least a few key matches. Such is the game the whole world plays.
So I thought it’d be interesting, at least for me, to see who people think will win the Cup.

Always the bookies.
heart wishes it was England, head says otherwise.
the bookies are always nice & fair, one World Cup European team wins it, the next a South American team.
We grew up on a largely English football diet but the English team is definitely far from being the best team out there – just witness how they had to rely on two own-goals from Japan to win in a recent friendly. I hope for a long-due Spanish win but the only consistency about them is their form inconsistency.
Never been a World Cup in Africa before, so maybe the rules about winners from alternating continents won't apply!
