I read in the Sunday Times that tickets for a ride on the yet to be completed Singapore Flyer… ok, let me rephrase that, because that sounds like you can ride on an incomplete Singapore Flyer, and your guide for the day might say something like,

“Sorry sir, as you can see, the Singapore Flyer is yet to be complete, so today you will only go a semi-circle”.

“If you come back tomorrow and go again, that makes a full circle”.

So, I read in the Sunday Times that tickets for a ride on the Singapore Flyer, when it is complete, have been sold out for the first three months of its scheduled operations. Fully booked.

Yes! What? How can?

You’d think that being the lean and efficient city that we are, we’d have foreseen the problem and taken steps to deal with it.

But not to worry. We now know that if we didn’t have the benefit of foresight to anticipate congestion, we always have the LTA method of putting up more and more gantries to fix the problem.

So, I propose that the Singapore Flyer project be taken over by the LTA so that they can build two or three more Singapore Flyers to deal with the problem:

There, the BERP Method of Dealing with Congestion. Great thing is, if it doesn’t work after a while, all you need to do is build some more.

  1. I still say the Flyer is built on the wrong site lah… from that angle, what do you want to see? Guests at Ritz Carlton and the Oriental mooning themselves??

  3. Fit each carriage cabin with a IU and get the people to insert their cashcard when they come aboard.

Thereafter, install a few ERP gantrys along the path of which the flyer rotates.

Confirm chop stamp guarantee to solve congestion one.

  5. My advice is, do not even try to take the ride at Singapore Flyer. The wheel being booked 3 months in advanced is full of bullshit…..just marketing gimmick.

I went up and guess what? Only 5 persons. Many capsules were totally empty! I heard that some capsules are “dirty” and some staff even saw “ghosts”. I am not kidding. Do not take the ride especially in the Chinese 7 month.

Ticket price too expensive and the ride is really slow and no fun. Bad experience!!!

  7. I took a ride on the Singapore Fly in early March and guess what? Most of the capsules were nearly empty!

Three month fully booked? My foot!!! I realised that this is nothing more than marketing gimmick. Singapore Fly’s way of “justifying” S$29.50 per ride? I shall NEVER ride on that stupid SF again! Bullshit and liar! Dishonest company.

After all, the Singapore Flyer owned by Great Wheel Corp. and revenues generated will be channeled to this German company. Any benefit to Singaporean? I wonder.

Spending 30mins in that capsule is not only expensive but also feeling like trapping in a lift. No worth.

  13. Your site is fine. I just want to comment on the design. Its too loud. Its doing way too much and it takes away from what youve got to say wch I suppose is really important. I dont know if you didnt suppose that your words could hold everyones attention, but you were wrong. You definitely have something to say and you say it with style, my man!
