Connected cleaners

If you’ve ever wondered if Singapore was really such a hi-tech connected country with hi-tech connected people, wonder no further.

On the Emerald Hill Group’s website’s “Work for us” section, there are openings for ‘Cleaners’ to work at their various outlets on Emerald Hill. So confident are they that people who usually seek employment as cleaners would have internet access and have the nous to look up job openings online.

No. I’m saying that Singapore is a hi-tech connected country with hi-tech connected people.

Besides, I just thought it’d be funny because I thought not many people would apply for a cleaner’s job online.

Now you’ve made me look and feel like a monster. And on my birthday too!

    Sigh.

sgblogs.com: I think your over-judgmental comment’s a little uncalled for. I would imagine Mr Miyagi’s comments derived from the fact that well, unless you have the numbers to prove it, the probability of a cleaner being internet-savvy and therefore applying for a job online is minimal, if not zero.

And before you even jump to conclusion yet again that I do not have statistics, perhaps you should go consult Garner or AC Nielsen. They track just about everything. And yes, occupation is tracked as well.
