This Bring Your Own Bag Day thing has gotten quite a few people in a tizzy. I didn’t know of it until a friend mentioned that he was charged 10c per plastic bag when he went shopping. He claims it isn’t unreasonable, given that, ‘in Taiwan, you buy anything in the 7-Eleven also have to pay for the plastic bags’.

But what’s this news of people wanting discounts for reusing/recycling bags? WTF?

Anyway, going green can be interesting, especially if you visit treehugger.com’s section on ‘How to green your sex life‘. It’s got very very enlightening bits of information such as:

    i had started using recyclable bags for quite some time already. but i got really pissed off with some of the cashiers at ntuc, shop n save, guardian. i can’t quite recall if watson is included. u noe what? when i checked out with my stuff & told the cashiers that i got my own carrier, they actually stood there doing nothing & expected me to pack the purchases myself! my hands were full, i bought several items, i as the customer, how come i was supposed to be doing their job? on a few occasions, i asked that they help me put the items into the carrier, the cashiers gave me a really unhappy look! very boh gan guan attitude leh, miyagi! after these few unhappy experiences, i stopped using my own carrier at these outlets.

    THE ABOVE ARE MY TRUE EXPERIENCES! I SAID THE TRUTH, NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH!

    good thing that the govt started this BYOB move. now these xyz *&# people have no excuses liao!

    btw, i don’t recall seeing V8 in the market..
