Singapore soldiers must not only fight good, but also look good. Good skincare is part of every serviceman’s responsibility. And having clean underwear too.

I remember when I was in Taiwan a few months back for training, I too lazy to change my underwear for a few days, simply because it was too wet to do anything (It was during the typhoon season)! But clean dry underwear is always a morale booster. Hehehehe. Have fun while it lasts!

Eh careful ah Mr. Miyagi! Later kenna people say you ‘vaguely gay’ again. Lol.

You know what the irony is? Beautifuk hates homosexuals, kids, fat and ugly people, old folks and the list goes on… and then claims she’s a lover of peace (no I’m not making these up it’s well documented on her blog)! Funny anot you say?

Mr Miyagi, your rank how come only 2 strips? What is it called? Corporal First Class?

As far as i know, 1 strip is Private First Class. Then if add an umbrella above that 1 strip, it is Lance Corporal. Moving on with another strip at the bottom will be corporal.

So apparently i was wondering how come your rank no umbrella one? It’s my first time seeing it but then, stylo leh!

The Corporal rank insignia prior to 1992 consisted of just two chevrons, no ‘umbrella’.

Many of we lau chiao Corporals still have uniforms with the no umbrella two-stripe insignia. We still wear them to reserbit (until kena caught).

Last tam, PFC is one straight line one. Then Lums Corporal is one kinked line. Then Corporal is two kinked line.

Later they introduced the Corporal First Class, to distinguish the Combat Corporals from the Service Corporals, and the Umbrella was born. We called the CFCs “Nng Teow Pua”, or Two-and-a-half-stripers. They were not amused. Hahaha!
