Google Earth woulda been da bomb if dey had a Mac version. It’s probably the only time I’d ignore this here Powerbook for an hour or so and go hijack someone else’s PC.
And if, like me, you drool over maps and can spend hours poring over them, making landmarks out of contours, then Google Earth will give you shitloads of pleasure. You can go, “Look, darling, this is where I used to live, innit cool?” about 129 times, even though you’ll get only 3 or 4 “yes dears” in response.
I flew around Singapore and managed to get pretty good resolution images of my home and workplace and where I went for lunch today. But if you’re thinking of getting down to the 10th metre or so, you’d be disappointed that you can’t quite see who walks the mean streets of Singapore:
“Top jobs at Elmer Fudd’s Employment Agency”
(Alternative caption (in the Hokkien): “Li si zho simi gang eh?”… “Pa Jiao! No, really, Gua si Pa Jiao Lang”)
iTunes is playing an illegal copy of Plenty Nonsense Dey For Nigeria by Femi Kuti from the podcast “naija jams”.
