This post is about work stress, not the rash

Ever had one of those days where work stress got so bad you started getting a rash round your elbows and on your neck? I’m sure you have.

I had one today. I’m still having one. One of those days. And the rash. I am a one-man Itchy & Scratchy Show.

Fight fight fight fight fight fight. The Itchy & Scratchy Showwwwww!

Surf stop: Observations
iTunes’ party shuffle is playing a copy of: The Onion Song (with Tammi Terrell) – Marvin Gaye – The Very Best of Marvin Gaye, of which I have the original CD and therefore didn’t steal music.

I’ve never had a work stress rash, but I’ve had work stress headache and work stress cough and work stress cannot-bear-to-be-in-work-environment-anymore-let-me-out-now!!! syndrome.

Your rash sounds worse than all of the above combined 🙂

Yeah i’ve had rashes too, stress induced. On my wrists, so bad that i had to visit the skin centre. WTH.

Anyway cold showers will reduce the itchiness.

That’s really bizarre. I’ve never heard of people getting rashes because of stress. I’d think it’s due to the heat.

Yeah. That’s the first time I’ve heard someone getting stressed until they have rashes. Well, I guess people react to stress in different ways.

I emphatise. Do know what it feels like. When the going gets worse, you have to contend with the damnable itch plus the stress. Not funny at all.

From your resident health professional, here are some do’s 🙂

    #1- Cotton clothes
#2- Cold showers. Hot ones, though tempting, dry the skin out and make it worse.
#3- See a dermatologist. Cld be eczema.
#4- Less starch and cholesterol laden foods. Sorry!

Thanks for all your advice. I already am a hypochondriac in any case.

But the rash has subsided, and all that remains is the stress. Hey that sounds like a song lyric. Before you know it. I’m a poet.

I see more stress rashes at my work lately though the clients come in for anxiety and depression so may also have drug rashes due to the medications. Thanks for an interesting blog and congrats on being a parent!
