I was part of the 3/4 of the population of this fair country not required to vote today. You’d imagine I’d be ambivalent about the whole thing, and you’d mostly be right.
Whatever the outcome, I’m not gonna say things like, ‘You deserve the representatives you vote for’.
Instead of mulling over whose gonna lose what seat and by how much, I went and ate possibly the most expensive piece of cake, weight-wise and otherwise. $19.90 before tax, for a 7cm diameter carrot cake garnished with sweet potato flakes, white chocolate and mascarpone icing. But it was nice.
Non-sequitur, is it? Don’t care lah. Bak Chor Mee Man is on holiday, no need to exprain.

Shouldn’t it be 1/3 instead of 3/4?

1,000,000 million voters out of a population of 4,000,000. My math teacher told me to ignore the zeroes, and that should make 1/4. And that means 3/4 are non-voters. Yah. Unless my math teacher’s wrong.

Hi Mr. Miyagi, your math teacher is correct but our government & media did not gave you the full picture.
It should be 1/2 of the population cos only 2.1 million Singapore Citizen are eligible to vote. The other 1.9 million are parasites, sorry, i meant Permanent Residents who have no voting rights.

Hi Mr. Miyagi,
Your math teacher is correct but the government & media has omited to remind you that out of the 4 million SINGAPOREAN, only 2.1 million are eligible to vote. Therefore, it should be 1/2 of the population. The rest of the 1.9 million are parasites, sorry, I meant Permanent Residents who have no voting rights.

What don’t nut means is, Singapore got 4 million people, of whom 3 million are citizens. So 1 million voters out of 3 million citizens should be 1/3.
But I think don’t nut still not complete enough, since the 1 million voters should be divided over the total number of eligible voters, meaning you should take out the children, those overseas, those in IC wards.
I mean if more than half of the seats are contested, shouldn’t that be more than half of the population voting?
