Street directories are doggy

Google Maps

If you need directions, Google Maps are great, and in the U.S. you can even download them onto your phone. This is really useful considering we know how detailed some of the Google Maps and Google Earth stuff can be.

In Singapore, presumably because it’s not 2015 yet, we’re stuck with using streetdirectory.com, which is pretty nifty already:

Streetdirectory.com Maps for mobile

See?

Take a closer look, and you’ll know that they’re striving to do away with paper and embrace electronic media:

But wait, what's so 'doggy' about a book?

No. It’s not because all the photos depict Ang Mohs happily using all manner of mobile devices! It’s because it says that street directory books are ‘doggy’ and outdated.

I do own several doggy books but none of them have maps. Guess I’ll have to throw those out too.

iTunes is playing an illegal copy of Last Chance To Evacuate Planet Earth Before It Is Recycled from the album “Lightbulb Sun” by Porcupine Tree of which I have the original CD.

I hate these bastards because they sued me for using a map. But get this… it was a designer I engaged who used it. Yes, I approved the art work but how was I to know he didn’t draw it. Moreover, I never even heard of street directory before then. After countless emails explaining to them I don’t own the company anymore, and the design company went bust so on and so forth …. like a greek tragedy like that.. bottom line….I still had to pay…
