I suck, therefore I sue

Bastard child of an air-con remote control and a cheap nokia phoneiPod

Just because you think you have the right to legal recourse, it doesn’t make you any less of an idiot when you actually take legal action.

Plus it doesn’t make you more popular with consumers, nor will it make your share prices go up any. Wake up dude — You are in the business of being popular.

  • Yup. They suck. If they had wanted to sue they should have done it by 2002 latest, since the iPod was first released then. Don’t wait until 4 years until your patent has been breached (is that the right word to use?) then come and sue cos you realise the other company is taking away your intended customers.

    Losers take the backstabbing approach.

  • technically they can’t sue in 2002 as the patent was only granted last year. why the patent was granted in the first place when it is not about a piece of software but a method of displaying information in a portable music player.

Hahahaha… so true. Even though the iPod is not the best MP3 player but it is the coolest looking. Fashion wins over functionality.

im guessing all of you are in possession of an ismth or the other and are convinced you are too cool for words.
cut creative some slack. if they believe they have been infringed upon then sue loh.
plus i wud wager if it played out the opposite way — u wud be so quick to snigger at sporean products beings incapable of innovation.
and they don’t suck. perhaps u shud look beyond your american dream every now and then.

  • Guess what, prices of Creative shares did go up some 12% over the past few days. And this was bucking the trend of the stock market as a whole.

  • apple applied for the same patent too. only to find out creative already did it.. if apple did get the patent in the first place. they would have done the same.

  • creative’s marketing team needs to go back to sch..and that Sim too. I can lend him my marketing textbook if they want. Make lousy products and wanna conquer..did Sim’s balls suddenly grow larger than his head?

  • Sim need to go to the Marketing World Of Steve job’s School. How on earth is your puny ass good for nothing non fashoinable company going to sue one of the biggest most trendiest and richest company in the world and expect to win. I guess desperation is really taking it’s toll them…at least they have that shit called progikeys or something like that!!

  • Creative? Not a creative move hor!

  • Been reading the comments. Creative is caught in a catch-22. I mean, its a case of damn if I do and damn if I don’t. I have the patent, if I sue I get to big legal cost (and worse may not win). If I don’t sue, shareholders may not be happy, share price may drop and worse still low market share. Thats the mud that they are stuck in.

Personally, I feel that feature wise Creative’s MP3 player are great. Look wise they score way below F. Not to mention the marketing. I mean, Apple have the media hype and cool ads to push their iPod. Creative does not have that, they probably appeal more to techies. Worse their marketing is terrible. I mean have anyone ever seen or can recall a Creative Ads? I can’t recall a good one. I can only recall that lousy ad of an man with huge ears and being able to hear mosquito bite his leg. I mean what sort of ad is that? The Ps of marketing coupled with poor marcom may be a big reason why their stuff don’t fly off the rack.

    My 2-cents worth.
