I am that national serviceman whose full-time stint in a combat unit was his first time away from home. I am that recce trooper who lost a unit mate to an accident. I am that national serviceman who is still in service.

I am the son who never became what you wanted. I am the child who is still trying to please his parents.

I am the university dropout who spent eight years abroad. I am the guy who got arrested. I am the guy who got deported. I am the sorry son of a bitch that came home jobless and unemployable.

I am the fella you hired. I am the guy who ran your business. I am the one who put you on television. I am the man who said you suck and you should quit when you’re this far behind. I am the employee who resigned.

I am the boy you met and fell in love with. I am the child you let fall in love with you.

I am the guy who didn’t know life had a purpose. I am the man you have since informed otherwise.
